The Best Just Got Better
The original TYROS set new standards for a Digital Workstation, which remain unsurpassed. TYROS2 now reaches new heights in expression, performance and most importantly of all, enjoyment!

The TYROS2’s huge palette of over 500 dynamic, realistic voices are not only available for your performance, but are also used by the Accompaniment Styles and One Touch Settings which have been remade to make full use of the wealth of new Voices, delivering a truly unbelievable audio experience.

Besides sound quality, TYROS2 features a new, high quality keyboard action that enhances your playing experience, whether you are a beginner or a professional.

New Features
Super Articulation Technology
Introducing a completely new level of sonic realism and musical expressiveness, Yamaha’s brand new technology: Super Articulation. Just play as normal and Super Articulation delivers MegaVoice authenticity to the melody that you play, adding unique performance characteristics of each instrument – for example, the expressive finger-slides on guitar, or the breathy, legato phrasing of a saxophone. Never before have stringed, wind and brass instruments—played live with a keyboard—sounded so convincing or so real!

Hard Disk Recorder
Install an optional Hard Disk Drive and the powerful new Hard Disk Recorder function becomes available. It allows you to record and overdub using not only the internal TYROS2 voices and styles, but also other instruments including your own voice via the Line or Microphone inputs. The TYROS2 Digital Audio Recording system stores a very high quality stereo wave file. The audio files can be exported to a computer where audio editing software can be used to tweak the recording as required before re-importing to TYROS2. If you just want some background music you can even transfer your favorite CD tracks onto the Hard Disk Drive and create a playlist!

Sample Playback
With Sample Playback you can load sample in WAV and AIFF format, offering an almost unlimited range of sounds that you can buy off the shelf. You can install up to 1Gb of standard computer RAM giving you plenty of capacity for samples, and you can even store the samples on the optional Hard Disk Drive.

Text Viewer
If you play and sing it’s great to have lyrics appear in the screen. Until now the lyrics had to be contained in your MIDI file songs but now with Text Viewer you can load a simple text file containing the lyrics of a song, and even store it to a registration memory. You can advance through the pages of text using a footswitch, and output just the text to an RGB monitor or TV, leaving the usual performance functions operable in the Tyros2’s screen.

USB to Device
The TYROS2 sports two USB to Device ports, one on the rear panel and the other conveniently located on the front panel to the top end of the keyboard. You can easily add a storage device such as an external Hard Disk Drive, or a small USB Flash Drive. If you have a lot of older software you could add a USB floppy disk drive.
